Sports News and Live Scoring: Mobile App Development

This project involved developing mobile applications for Bolavip and RedGol, two major sports news platforms under Futbol Sites. The initiative focused on delivering a rich, interactive user experience, tailored to the sports news audience in Latin America. The project demanded innovative approaches to mobile app development, addressing unique market needs and ensuring seamless cross-platform functionality.

My role: As the Senior Product Manager at Fiera Studio, my responsibilities included overseeing the project's lifecycle, from ideation to launch. I led the development and design teams, formulated the Go-to-Market strategy, and ensured the apps met high standards of user engagement and functionality. My role was pivotal in aligning the project with Futbol Sites' strategic objectives, ensuring both Bolavip and RedGol apps resonated with their target audience and strengthened their market presence.

Challenges: 

• Developing a dual-brand app strategy for different global markets.

• Creating a versatile app architecture for Android and iOS, accommodating various environments and modes.

• Implementing user retention features and dynamic UX patterns for sports content.

Solutions: 

• Engineered a base architecture to support two distinct brand apps on both major mobile platforms, using React Native for development.

• Implemented a scripting strategy for environment-specific configurations and Firebase integration.

• Developed key features for user engagement, like notifications for favorite team events and dynamic UX patterns for game results and news articles.

Main Tools:

• Firebase: Utilized for push notifications, analytics wrapper, anonymous user support, and real-time database, among other functionalities.

• Codepush: Enables the deployment of updates without requiring app updates on stores.

• Detox: Employed for React Native integration testing on both Android and iOS platforms.

• Strapi: Used as a CMS for managing content.

Impact: Successfully launched Bolavip and RedGol apps, significantly enhancing user experience and broadening Futbol Sites' digital footprint.
